AKITA Announces Appointment of New Director

CALGARY, Nov. 14, 2014 /CNW/ - AKITA Drilling Ltd. announced today the appointment of Henry G. Wilmot to the Company's Board of Directors effective November 14, 2014.  Mr. Wilmot will stand for election at the Company's 2015 Annual Meeting of Shareowners.

Mr. Wilmot, 61, has broad based business experience including 39 years with the ATCO Group of Companies.  During that time he held progressively senior positions and was most recently President & Chief Operating Officer of ATCO Structures Inc. and ATCO Frontec Corp.  Mr. Wilmot also has 12 years of senior management experience in the energy service industry in Canada.

AKITA is an Alberta corporation engaged in the contract drilling business in Western Canada and the North and is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol AKT.
